Alexander Podkul

Welcome! I’m Alexander Podkul, a survey methodologist with the Research Science Team at Morning Consult. I am also an adjunct professor with the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University. Previously, I served on the race call team in 2019-2020 with DecisionDeskHQ.

My academic research focuses on elections, especially congressional primaries. Generally speaking, my work uses quantitative methodological approaches to answer questions on voter behavior and political ideology. My doctoral dissertation studied the varying ideological representativeness of primary voters across constituencies using large-scale surveys and voter file data. Some of my research on congressional primaries has been covered by CNN, National Review, Politico, and The Atlantic.

Feel free to explore this website to learn more about my research and other work experiences. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or would like to learn more.
